Sleeve Pitch

Sleeve pitch is the angle at which the sleeve is set into the armhole of a jacket, determining whether the sleeve hangs naturally from the wearer's arm at rest. An incorrect pitch — too far forward or back — causes the sleeve to twist, pull, or collapse across the front or back of the arm.

Correcting sleeve pitch is one of the more technical adjustments in tailoring. It requires the cutter to understand how the individual client carries their arms and shoulders when at rest.
