Description
Since 1854, Francesco Maglia has operated in Milan as one of the last makers of true handcrafted umbrellas in Italy. The fit-up model — distinguished by its hook handle construction — is a form associated with the traditional English and Italian gentleman's umbrella.
This version carries a Japanese bamboo root handle: a material prized for its naturally irregular surface, its exceptional density and the fact that no two pieces are identical. The result is an umbrella that is both a functional instrument and a singular object.
